Borderlands 3 is official now but that doesn’t mean the ones before it are done with. In their PAX East panel Gearbox said there will be a free update coming to both Borderlands 2 and the Pre-Sequel. This update will be an ultra HD texture pack update, so you can have some improved graphics while you revisit the lore.
The texture pack itself will be separate on the PC for the two games. One the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X it’ll also be available to the Handsome Collection, which has both of those games. The Borderlands YouTube channel also released a video showing the updated textures in use, you can watch it below.
The console and PC versions of the update are very similar. They each get improved environment, character, and weapon textures, along with improved anti-aliasing and improved shadows. Consoles get 4K and HDR support while PC gets 4K and screen space ambient occlusion.
