Some recent insider knowledge seems to suggest that both a fourth mainline Diablo game, as well as a remaster of the much-beloved Diablo II, will be announced at this year’s BlizzCon. Blizzard’s annual press event-cum-gaming convention, BlizzCon has been in dire need of some exciting announcements since the convention’s notorious Diablo Immortal reveal last year, and these rumoured announcements seem to fit the bill.
These rumours come from Metro, an industry insider who has been known to reveal Blizzard news before its official announcement. Tales of a fourth Diablo game have also been supported by a leaked Blizzard print ad for a Diablo art book which claims to feature art from Diablo IV.
For anyone who cares, diablo 4 and diablo 2 remastered will also be announced. 🙂 #BlizzCon2019

It would be remiss not to mention that Blizzard, of course, has not been enjoying the best PR as of late – fans have boycotted Blizzard’s games due to their controversial handling of events relating to the Hong Kong protests. Whether or not these upcoming announcements will be enough to sway the public opinion of Blizzard back into their favour remains to be seen, however.
These are games that fans have wanted for quite some time, and combined with the rumour of an Overwatch sequel; it’s looking to be a BlizzCon that would be extremely well-received any other year. But alas, in such turbulent times for Blizzard, however, it is completely unknown if these announcements will be enough to get fans back on their side.
