Bioware’s Anthem has been getting some good press as of late with some new information revealed at PAX West recently. At PAX West a new demo, trailer and release date was revealed at their panel as the game is set to be released on February 22, 2019 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The demo will be released on February 1st just a few weeks prior to it’s release.
What seems to be interesting is that Bioware has also revealed that the game’s post story content will be free of charge.
Mark Darrah, executive producer on Anthem was at PAX West to talk about the free DLC for the game:
“ For storytelling, we don’t want to divide up the audience. We want people to experience the same story at the same time, so none of that is going to be locked behind any kind of paywall.”
Mark also went into detail of certain items in the game like the removal of loot boxes which will be replaced with items worth buying however with currency found in the game itself rather than actual money with loot boxes
This approach to make the playing experience cheaper seems interesting as to what story they want to tell since they want everyone to be at the same pace to enjoy it one DLC pack at a time.
