Bioware interested In Making Smaller Games To Push The Envelope

Bioware has peaked in the AAA gaming world, Working under EA has given them funds to do anything they would want. They are known for the critically acclaimed Mass Effect franchise and have Anthem an open world Multiplayer shooter releasing next.

But in an interview, Mark Darrah has stated that the team is interested in making smaller and shorter games kinda like in a short movie format. This format would lett Bioware take risks and get a chance to be more creative.

Speaking to Game Informer Mark Darrah had this to say:

“I think some of the things that are coming, just in the way that we’re doing things in Bioware, and EA, and the way the industry is going, I think it is starting to afford us the opportunity for us to do some things that are more experimental,” Hudson said… “I would like for us to get to a place where, yes, we’re working on our next big thing, but we’re also getting the equivalent of short films out there.

“That’s a lot of fun. There’s a lot of people here that have ideas that they want to get out, without waiting for the next big thing,”

Now honestly this would be a great business idea but I highly doubt Bioware will have the time for this even more so with Anthem coming out. Recently we have seen smaller games like Hellblade and A Way Out craft a beautiful story, Bioware has the funds to craft an amazing story but the question is will they ever do it? only time will tell
