Battlefield V purchases will be cosmetic

No Premium passes? No Lootboxes? Is this 2013 or have game developers realized what the gamers want? As it turns out it is 2018 and while all gameplay items will be unlocked with the progress you can still buy yourself some cosmetic items. Sigh… but at least it’s a step in the right direction.

Recently, It has been confirmed that in-game purchases will be cosmetic only. Honestly, this will offer no gameplay advantage. Yet, that’s absolutely fine, I heard that a portion of cosmetics will be earned. Most games I play I am not at all bothered about how my character looks unless it is to boast that I did a certain challenge or completed a grueling campaign.

Some people out there want the developers to draw a line and say “We want zero microtransactions” but you need to remember why they are necessary. The reason the cost of games can stay almost constant in the last ten years even though games take longer to make, and they require a more skilled workforce is because of microtransactions.
