E3 has been canceled this year due to the coronavirus. That leaves a lot of conferences to get reorganized and plenty of announcements to get canned for the time being. One of which was Warner Bros. Games, which was going to show off a new Batman title, the long talked about Harry Potter game and Rocksteady’s next project.
The news comes down from a Tweet by Kotaku’s Jason Schreier, who was one of the few to predict E3’s cancelation.
More news from me: Warner Bros. Games was planning to do an E3 press conference this year for the first time, to talk about Batman, Harry Potter, and Rocksteady's game among others. Remains to be seen what they'll do now https://t.co/OIry5zgB6p

Back in Jan. WB Montreal, the studio behind DLC for Rocksteady’s Arkham trilogy and the developers of Batman: Arkham Origins, teased across its social media accounts a new game with the Caped Crusader.
When it comes to Rocksteady, fans have wanted a new game from the studio since 2015’s Batman: Arkham Knight. The last title to come out was a 2016 VR title called Batman: Arkham VR, but no AAA release has gotten an announcement since the finale of the iconic DC hero’s trilogy.
In Oct. of 2018, leaked footage popped up about a Harry Potter RPG. Now with Schreier’s tweet, it appears the world was going to get a look at the upcoming fantasy game.
E3 has been talked about closing down entirely. The ESA has had financial troubles, last year a leak of thousands of journalists’ personal information came out, and Geoff Keighley, who usually hosts E3 Coliseum, dropped out of the event since he did not “feel comfortable participating given what I know about the show as of today.”
No word yet when developers and publishers will find another way for their announcements without E3. With the money and time invested in planning ahead for the industry-wide event, it is likely to see something from studios.
