An exclusive on GWW (Geek WorldWide) has confirmed that a new Batman game is in the works. The game is a soft reboot to the critically acclaimed Arkham series.

This may be a shock to fans of the Arkham games as this new game won’t continue the story. A sequel to Arkham Knight was planned where Bruce Wayne’s son, Damian Wayne, would take on the cape and cowl. However, WB ended up cancelling this project before they could announce it at the game awards in 2016. WB then decided they needed a fresh start and started development on this game.

This new Batman game is going to kick start a new, cannon friendly story. After this game releases in autumn this year, there will be another DC game made by the original creators of the Arkham games Rocksteady. The path ahead is a little foggy, there are sources saying that there is a next-gen Superman game in development (not being made by Rocksteady) by WB but nothing is confirmed on that front.

The story details are being kept under lock and key for the new Batman project. All we know is that there will be a playable Bat-family, the introduction of co-op and the Court of Owls is involved.
