Avengers Project teased again by Crystal Dynamics

Avengers Project is in the works

The Avengers movies have been wildly successful for Disney and Marvel. The second part of Infinity War comes out next spring, so it makes sense that a company has attempted to create a video game to coincide with the movie.

Crystal Dynamis should be a recognizable name for gamers. They’ve worked on the Tomb Raider games for the last decade. They’ve spearheaded the reboot for the series in the past five years: Tomb Raider in 2013, Rise of the Tomb Raider in 2015, and the newest entry Shadow of the Tomb Raider just this year.

Back to the Avengers game, Crystal Dynamics has been tight-lipped about the project. They have recently published a blog post talking about it, but there still isn’t very much detail. The biggest takeaway way might be the announced collaboration between Marvel and Square Enix for multiple games.

The point of the blog post may be to rebuild some interest for the Avengers Project leading up to a bigger announcement about it in the near future. Jawad Ali of Segment Next says that something more in-depth could be revealed about the project at the Game Awards 2018 event. That would make sense. Crystal Dynamics could be stirring up some interest now to maximize interest for a major announcement in the near future.

Avengers announcement could come soon?

That could be just what Crystal Dynamics needs. They would love a big stage to announce a game that will surely feature big characters and big ambitions. More details might trickle out between now and the Game Awards show, which is on December 6 at 8:30 p.m. EST.

For now, both Avengers and Crystal dynamics fans will have to bide their time. Superhero games, for the most part, have fallen flat. Insomniac’s Spider-Man is an example of a superhero game done right and the sales for it support all the interest.

So, what are your thoughts on the mysterious Avenger Projects? Is it something you see yourself playing? Let us know your thoughts.
