During their first event of 2020, Awesome Games Done Quick has raised a staggering $3.1m for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. The event ran over the space of a week, January 5 – 13, from the heart of the DoubleTree hotel in Orlando Florida.

As always, a plethora of Speedrunners attended en-masse to show off their skills and attempt to beat records on their favourite games. Titles included: Untitled Goose Game, Dark Souls and Super Mario Maker 2.

With the help of over 54,000 donations, the exact total came to $3,134,033.56. Beating the amount raised last year which reached $2.39m. Which just goes to show the amazing support and generosity that the speedrunning community and their fans have to offer.

If you missed out on the event and want to catch up on featured runs, you can find them over on the AGDQ official YouTube channel. Alternatively, you can watch their unedited streams and highlights over on Twitch.

But that’s not all, as the next fundraising events are already in the works. Summer Games Done Quick returns later this year, June 21-28, at the Bloomington in Minnesota. With AGDQ 2021 scheduled for January 3-10.
