Yesterday I mentioned that Spider-Man is likely to be an exclusive character on the PlayStation. Today however, you can take a look at the reveal trailer for Hawkeye, who will be on all platforms. Based on a series of comics called Hawkeye: My life as a weapon, written by Matt Fraction and drawn by David Aja. Hawkeye will be playable in single player and co-op, and will also have his own story mission separate from the main campaign. You can check out the Tweet from the official account here. During the Marvel war table that was streamed in July, Nick Fury also mentions that post A-Day (after the death of Captain America) there are twenty surviving Avengers. I’m hoping that means we will see at least 20 playable characters. (Ant-Man please). Avengers releases on the PS4 and Xbox on September the 4th 2020. This browser-based game released in 2012 from developer Twinbeard Studios. The premise is simple; you are a frog trying to defend your precious fruit from bugs. Later on, you get to unlock new abilities to better combat the hungry invaders. Despite the name, it is not an educational game as the score given to you in fractions, but children will not be learning math here. A sequel was released in 2016 on windows PC with a launch for Mac the following year. It was funded on Kickstarter with a goal of $60,000 and ended up raising $72,107 from 2,571 backers. Frog Fractions 2 received mixed reviews, unlike its praised predecessor. While you can get Frog Fractions: Game of the Decade Edition for free, you can pay $7.99 (20 percent off from its original $9.99 price) to receive a hat. You don’t get any special perks, as it is meant for players who want the “ultimate experience, if you want to eat bugs while wearing a hat!” Will you be playing the Frog Fractions remaster? Tekken 7 – New season announced https://dailygamingreport.co.uk/latest-gaming-news/tekken-7-new-season-announced/ https://dailygamingreport.co.uk/latest-gaming-news/tekken-7-new-season-announced/#respond Mon, 03 Aug 2020 15:02:19 +0000 https://dailygamingreport.co.uk/?p=33651 A new Tekken 7 update is coming soon Fans of fighting games are in for a treat. Tekken 7 is getting a new update this fall, as Bandai Namco announced on July 31st. Season 4 of the epic combat game will bring new moves to every character in the game. Also, the update will improve the online experience for players. In the new online matchmaking, players can see an opponents wifi connection before starting a match. This should help players avoid matches filled with lag. However, the biggest news might be the tease for a new character. The trailer ends with a figure standing on a rooftop. While their silhouette doesn’t clearly show their identity, fans have speculated that the character is Kunimitsu. If she appeared in Tekken 7, it’d be the first time the female ninja has showed up since the first two Tekken games. Most think she’s the fastest character in the whole series, so fans are eager to see if she’ll be revealed in the new update. This update continues to strengthen the already popular fighting game. With many characters added to the game as DLC after release, Tekken 7 has kept fans hooked since its 2017 release. Personally, I hope there’ll be even more to come from Bandai Namco in the future for this arcade brawling extravaganza. If you want to comb through the release trailer for Season 4 yourself, here’s the announcement trailer. See if you can guess who’s joining the party in the update this fall. Official Silent Hill account on Twitter! https://dailygamingreport.co.uk/latest-gaming-news/official-silent-hill-account-on-twitter/ https://dailygamingreport.co.uk/latest-gaming-news/official-silent-hill-account-on-twitter/#respond Mon, 03 Aug 2020 08:52:15 +0000 https://dailygamingreport.co.uk/?p=33658 Could this be the beginning of a new series? Stories of a Silent Hill reboot have been bouncing around for a while, but recently the ‘official’ Silent Hill account was created on Twitter. Konami have said that they would like to do a soft reboot. This basically means that if you have never played, then you can get acquainted with the series without having to know all the various backstories. We had half expected a trailer to be dropped with the PS5 games launch event, but alas nothing appeared. The rumor mill has suggested that the game will simply be titled ‘Silent Hill’. Konami did confirm a few days ago that the Twitter account is real. You can check out the Twitter feed here. Does this mean that we might actually get a trailer at the PS5 event in August? Do we even want a reboot? (I’d rather have a new story that yet another remake). Spider-Man to be exclusive Avenger’s character on Playstation https://dailygamingreport.co.uk/latest-gaming-news/spider-man-to-be-exclusive-avengers-character-on-playstation/ https://dailygamingreport.co.uk/latest-gaming-news/spider-man-to-be-exclusive-avengers-character-on-playstation/#respond Mon, 03 Aug 2020 08:32:12 +0000 https://dailygamingreport.co.uk/?p=33655 According to a pulled retail listing! Marvel’s Avengers will be hitting shelves on September 4th 2020. I have to admit that when I first saw this game I was not to impressed, that however has been changing as the year goes on. I went as far as to pre-order it on my Xbox. That has now changed, instead I will be swapping my pre-order to PlayStation. Why? Because in a rumor floating around the net, it looks like Spider-Man will be an exclusive PlayStation only character. The developer Square Enix have a deal with PlayStation and have even gone on to gone on to say that there will be “surprises for PlayStation players”. So with that in mind, its surely better to get it on PS! It makes sense too, since Sony already have exclusive rights to the Spider-Man universe and have already made a multi-million dollar best seller. Spider-Man sold over thirteen million units! It was already announced in a previous post  that PlayStation will get to test the BETA edition before the Xbox launch, so its shaping up to look almost like a PlayStation exclusive. Also mentioned by Square Enix was that Hawkeye will be a playable character (on both consoles). Further more, owners of the current gen version will be able to upgrade to next gen for free! PS5 will also give the option of playing in enhanced graphic mode or high frame rate mode. In case you are still undecided, take a look at the trailer below! The 2 most interesting things found in the Nintendo gigaleak https://dailygamingreport.co.uk/latest-gaming-news/the-2-most-interesting-things-found-in-the-nintendo-gigaleak/ https://dailygamingreport.co.uk/latest-gaming-news/the-2-most-interesting-things-found-in-the-nintendo-gigaleak/#respond Sun, 02 Aug 2020 10:59:56 +0000 https://dailygamingreport.co.uk/?p=33643 Interesting things about Nintendo Throughout the month of July, Nintendo suffered a major source code leak. While it rarely touched upon newer titles, it heavily undressed older games from the SNES and N64 era. While some of the leaks were boring, such as the names of files, others were a lot more interesting. From Luigi in Mario 64 to cancelled Pokemon legendaries, these are some of the most bizarre things found in the gigaleak. Keep in mind that these are just the ones that stood out the most. If you are interested in more, check out the full gigaleak. Nintendo planned Luigi for Mario 64? “L is real 2401” is one of the greatest myths in gaming. That statement, written on a statue in Super Mario 64, gave fans hope that Luigi was possibly in the game. Unfortunately, there is no way to actually find Luigi in the game. That being said, Luigi was revealed to exist in the game’s source code from the gigaleak. Sadly, Luigi was never able to excel past the source code. This does, however, bring the great mystery to close. Even though Luigi can’t actually be found in the game, it’s nice to know that he does exist in some form and was probably going to make it into the final product. Uncovered Pokemon Some of the most popular Nintendo Leaks in recent history are cancelled Pokemon leaks. While few Pokemon were leaked in the new gigaleak, the most intriguing one is a cancelled legendary. This is most likely the cancelled design for Giratina, the Legendary found in Pokemon Platinum. Regardless, it would have been interesting to see a Pokemon like this released in an actual game. There were more Pokemon leaks, such as this prototype version of Garchomp or this early Rotom model, so be sure to check those out if you enjoy Pokemon! These are some of the most exciting leaks from last month. There are many more leaks, so keep an eye out for them on the internet. The gigaleak raises many questions for Nintendo: How did this happen? What will Nintendo do about it? Only time will tell. Got any news tips? Resident Evil 8 details leaked https://dailygamingreport.co.uk/latest-gaming-news/resident-evil-8-details-leaked/ https://dailygamingreport.co.uk/latest-gaming-news/resident-evil-8-details-leaked/#respond Fri, 31 Jul 2020 21:55:34 +0000 https://dailygamingreport.co.uk/?p=33622 A New Resident Evil Village Leak Has Surfaced We’ve now got new details on Resident Evil 8. Although the leak is not confirmed, the information supposedly comes from a playtester for the game. And, while it may not be true, this info gives a good look at a section of the game. We already know that the new Resident Evil game takes place in Europe. The leak’s description of a castle setting seems to match this, as the player must explore while looking for a key for a large door. However, this area is different from where previous playtests have apparently taken place; other, earlier tests occurred in the village near to the castle. We also got a little bit of a heads-up on the enemies in this section. Apparently, you’ll have to face rotting, armoured opponents, who attack in a similar way to Resident Evil 3’s infected: by jumping on you, grabbing and biting. A particular enemy can behead you with a single swing of a sword, but the enemies seem mostly standard. Finally, the leak gives a description of the boss found in the playtest’s part of Resident Evil 8. During this fight, players will have to take on the insect-controlling witch Olga. After managing to damage her, players will then have to tackle another form, as Olga transforms into a giant insect creature. The playtest ended after this fight finished, meaning this was all we got to hear about the next Resident Evil game.  But, from the sounds of it, there’ll be just as many scares as we’ve come to expect. The only official look we’ve had at Resident Evil 8 is the teaser trailer from earlier this year. What games are coming to BOTH next gen consoles? https://dailygamingreport.co.uk/latest-gaming-news/what-games-are-coming-to-both-next-gen-consoles/ https://dailygamingreport.co.uk/latest-gaming-news/what-games-are-coming-to-both-next-gen-consoles/#respond Thu, 30 Jul 2020 10:55:08 +0000 https://dailygamingreport.co.uk/?p=33590 A rough guide to what we can expect! With the launch of the PS5 and the Xbox series X just around the corner, we have been inundated with launch exclusives, news and rumors galore. But whether you are a Playstation or an Xbox gamer, some of you might be wondering which games are coming to BOTH consoles. So below is a rough idea of what we know so far. At the top of the list is Assassins Creed: Valhalla. Like all UbiSoft games, the next AC installment will be on all consoles. Battlefield 6. EA has been pretty tight lipped about this game. Apart from a recent Tweet that said they would be ‘targeting new innovation that will be enabled by next-gen platforms‘. I have no idea what that means, but its still exciting! Chivalry 2. A medieval, FPS, Hack n Slash, multiplayer game! This will be a 64 player battlefield game which promises to be a lot of fun. I’ve always wanted to be a knight! Chorus. A game that was shown with the Xbox game reveal, it turns out that this will in fact also be on the PS5. A futuristic shooter, your main objective is to destroy the foolish cult that you happened to once be a part of! Control. A supernatural action-adventure. It was already released on the 27th August 2019. However it will be getting an upgrade to next gen ‘At some point’. Cyberpunk 2077. If you haven’t heard about this game, then you probably need to subscribe to this website. The most highly anticipated game of 2020, will be getting an upgrade on next gen consoles. If it ever gets released before I need to collect my pension! Dying Light 2. One of my favorite zombie games out there is getting a sequel. And a long time we have been waiting (first out in 2015)! I’m probably more excited about this, than Cyberpunk. FarCry 6. Another UbiSoft franchise games will be hitting next gen in February 2021. This time it sees evil drug lord Gus.. no wait..wrong guy. Its sees evil villain Anton Castillo keep a tight grip on a local city. Fifa 21. Unsurprisingly EA will be releasing this game. Parents should hide their credit cards from kids that want to spend their life savings on loot crates. I’m pretty sure a mate of mine spent enough to buy an actual footie team!! GTA V. Rockstar announced that GTA would be getting a remaster/upgrade. If you happen to be playing this on PS4 right now, then you should be receiving $1 million in (virtual) cash every month until launch. It is likely to be available in late 2021. This will be the third release of GTA V. Gods and Monsters. First announced at E3 2019 for an early 2020 release, this UbiSoft title will now be available around the spring of 2021. Maybe.   Gothic. THQ have decided to remake its 2001 classic. Although this was only announced for PS5, it has always been available on each console, so I have added it. Either way, its another remake. Hitman 3. Although this was showcased on the PS5 games stream, it will be coming to Xbox series X. The third installment is likely to finish up on the current story line. To be honest it looks amazing. Should drop around January 2021. Madden 21. Like Madden 20, but different. EA Sports love this stuff!   Metal: Hellslinger. A Doom like game, this is one to watch. With an Epic soundtrack provided by Trivium’s Matt Heafy and Arch Enemy’s Alissa White-Gluz, this is gonna be a kill-fest. Apparently the headbanging tunes intensify as you get more accurate shots in. Count me sold! NBK 2K21. The next season for Basketball fans will be returning in this ongoing franchise. This is supposed to be out on next gen consoles, but as a rule they tend to drop in September, and a release date is set for the 4th. Perhaps it will be a free next gen upgrade? Observer: System Redux. This is a remaster of the original starring the late Rutger Hauer (Bladerunner). It will feature new content, upgraded graphics and enhanced game-play. A psychological horror first released in 2017 with a steam rating of 9/10.   Oddworld: Soulstorm. Despite being called Soulstorm, this is actually a remake of Oddworld: Abe’s Exodus. Oddwold are indeed popular and if you have never played an Oddworld game, then this is a cool place to start. That said, it is another remake (yawn). Outriders. All I can tell you about this game, is that it will be on next gen consoles at the end of this year. The developer has said  its ‘a co-op RPG shooter for a new generation set in an original, dark and desperate sci-fi universe‘. So it sounds like it will be fun!   Paradise Lost. A first person adventure about a boy who finds a Nazi bunker in a post apocalyptic wasteland. Sounds cheery.   Planet Coaster: Console Edition. Its been a while since I have played a Rollcoaster Tycoon type game. It is a sequel and has been on PC since 2016. The console version was due for initial release in summer of 2020, this was pushed back to the winter. It will be on PS4 and Xbox as well as next gen.   Pragmata. Developed by Capcom, very little is known about this game. We can tell you that is due for release in 2022, so you have time to decide which console you will want it on. Recompile. You get to play as a Virus. Hmm.. however what is cool, is that you also get to choose if you want to go in with your weapons out, or hack the system and allow the bad guys to kill each other. Explore, Hack, Fight, Survive! Sounds like it could be one for the strategists.   Resident Evil 8. Chris Redfield is back and heading into what looks like a spooky village in Transylvania. Although the third person remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3 have recently been released, Resident Evil 8 will be first person and looks super cool. Scarlet Nexus. Bandai Namco’s hack and slash anime adventure was originally announced on the Xbox reveal back in May. However this will be coming to PS5 too. Your character will use mostly psychic powers to beat mutants attacking your city. Lord of the Rings: Gollum. A never seen before perspective of Gollum’s story, told as an action-adventure game. Due for release in 2021 on all platforms. Vampire: The Masquerade-Bloodlines 2. This was shown on the Xbox games showcase, but it is confirmed to be also coming to PS5. You play a vampire in this version of a tabletop role-play game brought to life on your screen. It sounds pretty cool and looks sweet! Get your bite on! Watchdogs: Legion. And here is yet another UbiSoft game. This is due out on October 29th 2020. This will be on current consoles and next gen. I was initially not too fussed about this, but I have since taken more of an interest. Now the only question is, do I wait for next gen? Or get it in October? WRC 9. Last in this list is WRC 9. It will release on all platforms in September, but also on next gen. The game will feature rallies from Kenya, New Zealand and Japan, alongside over 400km of roads from all 13 scheduled rounds of the 2020 season. Sounds like a blast! There are a few more remakes and remasters coming out, and of course each console has its own exclusives. But as you can see from the list, the next few months worth of gaming looks pretty good, and we at DGR cannot wait to sink our teeth into all!! Cuphead Arrives on PS4 https://dailygamingreport.co.uk/latest-gaming-news/cuphead-arrives-on-ps4/ https://dailygamingreport.co.uk/latest-gaming-news/cuphead-arrives-on-ps4/#respond Wed, 29 Jul 2020 22:18:13 +0000 https://dailygamingreport.co.uk/?p=33562 Get ready for some bosses, Cuphead is on the PS4 now Cuphead has arrived on PS4 yesterday from a post on the PlayStation Blog from Studio MDHR co-director Chad Moldenhauer. The story follows Cuphead and his brother Mugman who are in debt to the devil. Fight off enemies to pay off your debts. Players can play singleplayer or co-op as the two brothers. The game initially released on Xbox One and Windows in 2017 after its development started in 2010. It took that long from development to launch due to a hand-drawn art style. The Canadian-based studio wanted to achieve the look of 1930s cartoons. To further achieve the look and sound of the 30s, the team the same techniques used from these old cartoons to create the look and sound of its first game. Players go through levels facing off enemies until they reach a boss battle, which is the meat of the experience. Cuphead was known for its vintage aesthetic then became even more well known after release once players got to see the extreme difficulty. The Delicious Last Course, the upcoming DLC, still does not have a date yet. The added content is still slated to arrive later this year, so we will keep our eyes open for any updates from the developer. What do you think that Cuphead is on PS4? Konami moving to Unreal Engine 5 https://dailygamingreport.co.uk/latest-gaming-news/konami-moving-to-unreal-engine-5/ https://dailygamingreport.co.uk/latest-gaming-news/konami-moving-to-unreal-engine-5/#respond Wed, 29 Jul 2020 22:16:20 +0000 https://dailygamingreport.co.uk/?p=33558 Konami is moving on from the Fox Engine After years of service, Konami will stop using Fox Engine after eFootball PES 2020. Hideo Kojima developed the game engine for Konami way back in 2010. Throughout the last decade, the Fox Engine has brought us some classic games, from PES titles to Metal Gear Solid V. However, after Kojima departed Konami in 2015 to independently form Kojima Productions, Fox Engine’s future has been bleak. The Fox Engine gave us some wonderful games during its time. Both parts of Metal Gear Solid V, Kojima’s swansong on the series, are incredible stealth games. And the PES series, while it may have fallen behind Fifa in popularity, has still been a solid set of games. But, with the move to Unreal Engine 5, there’s a lot of potential for new games. This new engine will take advantage of the system upgrades on next-gen consoles. And, with tens of billions of polygons, it can create incredible 4k experiences. We should be hoping for some big things from Konami after this switch. Maybe, just maybe, another Metal Gear game? In the meantime, the first title to release on Unreal Engine 5 from Konami will be PES 2022, which looks great so far. Unreal is free for all developers and is one of the best engines out there, so it’s a bit of a no-brainer to use it going forward. We’ll leave you with the trailer for PES 2020, set to release a couple of years after the latest PES game. For more on upcoming games, check out our YouTube channel.
